Bonnie LEE
Occupational Therapist
Bonnie is an emerging Occupational Therapist with strong interest in neurological rehabilitation and supporting individuals to build autonomy and independence in their daily lives. She is passionate about working collaboratively with clients and their families to develop meaningful goals and promote participation in everyday activities.
Bonnie holds a Master of Occupational Therapy and a Bachelor of Exercise and Nutrition Science, which provides her with a holistic understanding of health, wellbeing and public health. Her background enables her to consider both physical and lifestyle factors when supporting clients through rehabilitation. Bonnie is committed to delivering culturally responsive care and ensuring therapy approaches are tailored to each client’s unique background, values and goals.
Experience, Projects and Interests
Bonnie has gained experience across acute hospital & rehabilitation, community, and school-based settings, working with individuals across lifespan.
Her clinical experience includes placements in:
· Acute inpatient stroke rehabilitation, completing upper and lower limb retraining, cognitive assessments, assistive technology prescription, and home visit to support safe discharge planning and functional independence.
· School-based occupational therapy, supporting student participation in learning through developmental and family-centered approaches
Bonnie has also contributed to several quality improvement and education initiatives, including:
· Evaluating the Memory Lane Program in geriatric ward at a tertiary hospital,
· Developing educational handouts for teachers on the zones of regulations and proprioception
· Delivering an in-service presentation for teachers on how gross and fine motor development impacts student participation at school
Approach
Bonnie values evidence-based and client-centered practice. She draws on the four sources of evidence in clinical decision-making – research evidence, clinical expertise, client factors and practice context – to guide her interventions.
